What's the problem with my power steering?
There is a slight whining sound coming from the pump and the sounds gets louder the further the wheels are turned to either side. Also, when driving the car, the steering feels slightly stiff and awkward, plus the steering wheel doesn’t return to center after making a turn. The belt is tight, and there are no leaks, the fluid level has not lowered any since I last checked and marked it during my last oil change in December, there are no puddles under the car either… Just wondering if anyone can assure me that it’s the pump that needs to be replaced, or if the problem could be in the rack… any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated, Thanks.
Vintage radio and phonograph?
I have a 1939 Silvertone radio and phonograph in working condition. Has just a few signs of wear. Does anyone know the approximate value of this? Or can you tell me where to get that info? I live in an area where there really aren't any antique appraisers.

Will my skin eventually toughen up to accommodate these heels?
I have these super strappy three inch heels. I love them, but whenever I wear them the straps cut into my feet. I wore them to the dance yesterday and came home with three blisters and some blood. This weekend I plan to practice wearing them, like wear them around the house, maybe take a walk around the neighborhood. I can also wear them after school sometimes. But they're black and pretty formal looking, not really the kind of thing one would wear on a Saturday morning or to take a walk with the dog. Especially considering I'm barely 13 and only 5'2. So it would be weird to wear then often. I may or may not wear them on Valentines day. The plans are pretty undecided, but I'm not going out with a boy or anything. It'll most likely be Starbucks with my family (about 362 days of the year we drink home brewed coffee, Starbucks pre made coffee is for special occasions), then card opening and a movie at home. Not really the kind of thing you wear heels for. But of the slight chance I ever go out on a date, or for the next semiformal or formal dance I want to be prepared and I don't want to be constantly adjusting my shoes because the straps are cutting into my feet. These are the only fancy shoes I have, besides these my five options are: Converse, Converse, Converse, running shoes, or clunky buckle-up church shoes. So if I practice at least occasionally will my skin toughen up or at least stop blistering?

Go easy with that stuff you may just find many treasures, WW ll stuff can be worth something, the object you described is a Viewer, it's probably 19th century or so,. When you handle stuff Do not polish or repair anything, Look for any Signatures, Hallmarks, or any identifying marks on objects. Sort them out and put into a category, like the WW stuff, China, Silver, Paintings, Especially papers and photographs, if they match any item that makes them more of value. example: if you have an Aviators flight jacket, medals, and military papers to along with it, it makes a package with verification etc. Make sure you look up items here on the NET and if you feel it's worth something, contact someone who knows antiques and appraisals. Are you sure it is flint? It reminds me of very old Chinese and Korean jade carvings. But since I am nowhere near an expert, I think you should take it to an antique dealer. If he offers to buy it, get another opinion, since it is probably worth more than his offer.

Is it illegal for a mother to beat there son with a belt?
I'm 14 with bad grades. I am doing my best to get them up, but my mother expects the impossible out of me. Earlier today she threatened to beat me with her leather belt. (And starve me.) When she spanks me or my sister, it's always on the behind, and usually 10-15 times. The last time she spanked me was when I was 12 with a spatula. '99 Volvo S80 w/200k....fix it or sell it? Looking for opinions!?
I have a '99 Volvo S80. Currently it has just a little under 200k on it. The car needs a drivers side ball joint, stabilizer links, probably a wheel bearing on passenger side (possibly a ball joint there also because there is a lot of general rattling going on up front) and it needs tires (but can't do that till I get the suspension stuff taken care of). The tires are about $350-400 and the other stuff easily would come to another $400-500. The moonroof works, some of the time, and the drivers side power window just suddenly started working very slowly so I'm hesitant to even put it down for fear it won't go back up again. Then there is the upcoming (at 205,000 miles) timing belt replacement. And, when you start it up in the morning, there's all kinds of whining noises till it warms up. The car also has a minor crunch on the drivers side front fender. Kelley Blue Book Private Party Value is Fair condition is $2,450. So, my question is.....should I put the money into it or take that cash and whatever I can get out of the car and move on to something else? The car still runs great (well, it goes thru about a quart of oil every 1,000 miles but I'm told that's "typical") and it's zippy and fun to drive. Whattya think?

What have i done to my leg?
I was walking home from school today and suddenly my left leg began to hurt. I know that sounds really stupid, but it's the truth and that's what happened. I wasn't able to walk on it and had to hold onto my friends shoulder and hop-along. It's really quite bad at the moment. I'm unable to put any weight on it and i'm having to hop about the house. It's almost as if i've pulled the actual hip or one of my hip flexies inside. Whenever i do put weight on it, the pains really bad and my leg almost buckles beneath it. All i know is that it's really painful and do you think it'll be better by morning?

Hit a plateau-- if you've stopped losing weight, then?
I have been on a plateau of weight loss since August 2010. Of course, I was eating ice cream every so often and having a couple of drinks here and there, but I otherwise eat very healthy and nutritious. Recently, I have buckled down, I am strictly eating good things, and am limiting my calorie intake to about 15-1600/a day. Plus, I have been working out hard everyday. It's been a week and a half since I have really been on a strict diet, but I am still seeing the same weight! Does my body not want me to lose anymore? I am 5'6 and weigh 157-160 (fluctuates everyday). I don't know what else to do!

Was walking thru the mall last weekend. Family in front me: Mom, Dad, 2 boys maybe 7 and 8 years old. Boys were doing everything possible to get on parents nerves: screaming, stomping, pushing and tripping each other. The dad was ignoring most of it. The mom was clearly agitated. She jabbed the dad with her elbow. He took off his belt - a real thick leather work belt - doubled it over and slapped it against his thighs. Made really loud crack. Got kids attention. They stopped horsing around, but the dad kept walking behind them with doubled belt in his hand, but he never actually spanked them with it. Nobody else in mall seemed to pay attention when he slapped the belt. I just happened to be going in the same direction. We walked out the same door but went different ways in the parking lot, but the dad was still carrying the belt when they walked out. Should I have followed them or said something, or was I right to mind my own business? PS: I'm in my early 20s, not married and don't have kids.

Car timing belt problems?
during the freeze my car had no antifreeze in it (i was unaware of this) and the engine froze when i tried staring it there was a bang and it wouldnt start ive just removed the timing belt and 4 of the teeth were damaged,so my question is what are the chances that the valves where damged when i tried starting it what are the chances of the block being cracked by the frozen water and what are the chances of the water pump being damaged?

I have a 2005 HYUNDAI Tucson and I am having problems with the battery draining. When I drive the battery light and the brake light flash simultaneously and it has not affected the car until recently I had to get a new battery which I just replaced last May so it has not even been a year yet. I have been reading a lot of complaints about my car and how little things like the radio and leaving the doors unlocked over night can drain the battery. Lately I have been leaving my seat belt buckled even when I am not in the car. This way when I get in the car I can just swing the top part around my chest and leave it off of my waist because it it too much pressure on my stomach. Because I leave it locked all the time I think it was draining my battery. I am not sure if that is the problem so I am wondering if leaving a seat belt buckled at all times can drain a car battery, and specifically this car?

Is/was your 2 year girl old very independent?
At two it's normal for some children to be very independent. They want to do everything themselves but if they can't do it or someone tries to help they get frustrated. It's their way of learning how to do things on their own. My little sister did it and so did many of the toddlers at the daycare center I worked at. Eventually she'll be able to do all this stuff on her own so it's just her way of learning how to do it so she can be a big girl.

It's not technically an antique until it's 100 years old. The market for such an item is really small, in my opinion. It's probably painted with lead-based paint, which modern parents and everyone who knows about lead poisoning possibilities are aware of. It probably IS a collectors item though.

impressive pacing. you stated someone was disturbed by something in your purposely short opening sentence. you then spent a long, long paragraph with delaying descriptions until you got to the punchline "looked just like her" This is something Mickey Spillane was praised for. I love sorting. I have never done it in a competition but I have done it with a group of people just for fun. I had a filly that I decided to use for it and like your horses it really helped her get over being a freak. I live in northern California and it is very popular here. K, I read this in like 10th grade and im looking for it now but i can't remember the name of the book or the author, or even the main character at that. If your dressage saddle has short billets like a hunt saddle, then you would use a regular hunt type girth. Dressage girths are made for long billets, which is why they come in such small sizes. And yes, they are measured buckle to buckle just like any other girth. Most dressage saddles use the long billets/short girth system, which is why dressage girths are short. But some dressage saddles like yours are made for regular girths. It's not better or worse, just different.

LATER THAT DAY I REPLACED THE HOSE AND THE BELT, AND TOOK IT FOR A DRIVE AROUND THE BLOCK, I NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE TEMP WAS RISING WHICH SEEMED ABNORMAL TO ME SO IN FEAR OF OVER HEATING I TOOK IT HOME, AFTER SOME RESEARCH I CHANGED THE THERMOSTAT THINKING THAT WAS THE REASON THE TEMP WAS RISING. AFTER 24HRS FROM REPLACING THE THERMOSTAT I DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO START HER UP AND TAKE IT FOR ANOTHER DRIVE. Car crash repair estimate?
More than the car is worth. However, if you want to do it yourself, using junkyard parts, a place near me sells things like hoods and fenders for ~$40 each. Add the side mirror and light and you might end up spending about $200. assuming you don't care what color the replacement parts are it's totally DIY. Might have to bend back the radiator support though. Since car is probably a beater, I don't see any of this being a real issue.

What is my antique enterprise fawcett Queen cook stove worth?
My husband and I bought a Enterprise Fawcett Company cook stove from a man who had the stove stored in his barn. The stove is in great shape. It is a Queen stove. On the front of the stove the date 1909 is on it. The stove actually says "Enterprise Furnance Company" on it but i saw online the name is now "Enterprise Fawcett". I really don't know what more information to post about it. There are different numbers on each of the doors that I am assuming are part numbers. If anyone knows which number would be the model number to provide more information that would be great.

How to straighten a frame?
Why not search for a good frame? Your propane torch will not give enough heat. The tree idea is not good it needs to be pulled and precisely jerking it will not bend it back to where it belongs. It has to be pulled in the proper direction to be usable. If you don't want to take it to a frame shop I would try to fine a frame off another truck and swap it out but its hard work and a lot of time. Craig's list is a good start. Good luck!
Do authentic Ushankas (Russian hats with ear flaps) have tags?
I went to this antique mall where everyday people have their own corners and sell "authentic" antique stuff. Some of it is of course debatable. I found this Ushanka that is dark brown and has the badge with the gold leaves(?) and the red star with the hammer and sickle in the middle. It feels like real fur but may not be, but it is thick and feels like it is good quality. The inside is black and quilted. It is $60.00. After doing some research, I found that finding an actually Ushanka that's been worn by a real soldier in the past is pretty hard to find, but there are original hats that were military surplus. Many of these have "OTK" stamps in them, which indicate that they passed the general guidelines of quality for military stuff. However, I can't remember seeing a stamp like that in the hat at the antique mall. It had a tag that was off-white with faded blue characters in Russian. I was wondering, has anyone seen a tag like this in an authentic Ushanka used for military?

I could just repeat what I said in response to Part 1. Basically, this is a short story, not a screenplay, there is too much internal thinking, and some believability questions need addressing. Why Do Republicans Support The So Called "Patriot Act"?
I consider myself a conservative and this seems to be the opposite of what republicans claim they stand for. They claim they are for smaller government and less spending. They swore an oath to protect the Constitution. How can they continue to pass legislation that is a direct assault on our civil liberties and give more unchecked power, effectively increasing the size and scope of government and spending. Even 44 of the new so called "Tea Party" candidates voted to extend three provisions of the Patriot Act last night in a direct assault on the 4th amendment. These are liberties our founding fathers fought for and so many brave Americans have lost there lives protecting. What's sad is they rammed it through Obama style, not allowing any debate or amendments. Do the republicans really believe we should trade our liberties for so called "security"? ok, so i'm a freshman. I came from the smallest of the main feeder schools. I know many kids from other schools that came into my high school, but not everyone. Since like day one, I've had a feeling that this one girl may kinda like me. She was a bit too nice, and she smiled at me a few times. But I thought she was just being friendly. I didn't really react. Then, i noticed that she really is kinda shy whenever I'm around. We're both in honors algebra and health, and i've seen her talking to her friends very openly and happily. But whenever I'm around, whenever that happens, that's usually when we just pass each other in the halls, she would kinda smile and walk past. Before, she would kinda blush and look down and pass by. Back then, I didn't really notice her much because I didn't know her. Then, after a while, I realized that I kinda like her because she's really nice, smart, well-mannered, and a good person all-around. I'm not meaning to brag, but I'm kinda the same. However, after a few months, I started to realize that she either doesn't like me anymore or she never did, because I started to look at her across the class more often, and she rarely ever made an look at me or anything. We didn't really ever pass each other in the halls, and we never had an honest conversation. The only time we ever talked before was when somehow one of those backpack buckles or ropes wutever u call it got stuck to my desk when she passed by.. It 's kinda weird to describe how it happened. it just sounds stupid describing it as some buckle. So I assumed she didn't like me. However, at our school's open house, I was there as part of the school newspaper interviewing clubs and students. She was part of the swim team. I started talking to a female friend on the swim team, and the girl that i like started to giggle to one of her friends, and then rushed over to get into the conversation. She seemed a little fastidious in responding but then kinda eased off. You know how when you get nervous about something but you keep your cool by trying to talk all suave? Well, that's kinda how it was. We spoke for about 5 minutes. I should've stayed longer, but I left to go interview the baseball team. The next day, we didn't talk, but I think she was trying to get me to start a conversation because we had gym that day (health and gym rotate every day) and when we were out of the locker rooms waiting in this little commence area for the bell, she was talking to a friend and i was talking to some friends, and i noticed she was kinda looking over at us. She even put her jacket beside where I put my hoodie, probably so when i get it, we would be beside each other. Honestly, I might be thinking that she doesn't like me. Maybe she's just really nice and well-mannered. But whatever it is, I think there's potential that she might like me. I'm not really that hot nor am I really a GENIUS, so I don't know why she would like me. But if she does, I have no idea how i can talk to her more. She doesn't have a facebook nor do I know her number. I don't know her friends very well. And the ones I do are more of my friends than hers, so they don't know her contacts either. We're not in any of the same classes. And we have assigned seats in math and health. And gym kinda seems awkward to just random approach her and start talking to her. All I know is she's in swimming and she plays violin in orchestra. I'm a music guy, but I'm a band geek, so we're naturally enemies. I play piano classically but I don't know how I could possibly just approach her and start a conversation about that. Please can anybody tell me how I should get into talking with her, far enough to ask her out?

Also, what is a good way to clean dust from under the strings and in the sound hole? And can you use a piano tuning key to turn the tuning pegs?

I would be highly annoyed. I would have to calm down before talking to my Sister (or sister in law as it seems to be here). I would tell her that I don't feel comfortable with my Father-in-law to be driving my child or me; so if she has another appointment or anything else that will make her unable to fulfill her duties of driver then she would need to tell me. Why does my parents spank me, and not my sister?
first of all i don't really get why my parents spank me most of the time, even though im 17. since what i remember they've been spanking me since i was 6. they usually use plastic hangers, the buckle of the belt, wooden hangers, or a wooden stick. most of the time it leaves bruises or the part they spanked on swells up.(swells takes days to come off) i just don't get why they never spanked my younger sister, shes 12. even though she does the worst things ever. all my parents do is talk. they don't even ground her or something like that. i never saw them spanked her the way they do to me. i just don't get it. i asked them why sometimes, all they told me that its the past and they don't do it anymore more. if they really don't spank anymore..why do they still do it to me until now? i really need some advise ... i'm losing it....

I was downtown taking pictures today and decided to step into an antique shop. I am starting to collect antique horse bits and the shop owner showed me one that he believes is made of cast iron (looked and felt like it) and he thought it could be old enough to have been used in the USA cavalry. He said he would sell it to me for $20. I'm going back tomorrow to buy it (didn't have any money on me and he said he would hold it for me). Just was curious how much it could possibly be worth. I am a 13 year old girl, I have an indie style, and I have always been extremely fascinated with antique items. Our thrift store is awful, there's only one, open twice a week, and nobody ever drops off anything other than old baby clothes there. So I can't look there. Why is my antique LIFE issue different from the ones on the internet?
I bought the October 3, 1938 issue of LIFE magazine from a bookstore in Burbank, California called Film World. It's in very good condition. I looked up the issue online, and I noticed something weird about the cover. All the images of the cover I saw on the Internet had the tagline at the bottom left of the picture "Arms and the Men". However, my copy has the tagline "Czech Defender" on it instead. Do I have some rare version of it that was issued?

Removing tape from a surface that it has been attached to for many years?
I just got an antique ping pong table. There are two pieces of tape that run across it's width. It's masking tape. The tape has been there for likely 25 years, so it is hard, crunchy, and pretty much "fused" to the table. I can't quite describe it, but I think you know what I mean. I can't get it too wet, because the chipboard will swell up. Any ideas for getting this tape off?

If you have an interference fit engine, and loose the timing belt, the bent valves will have to be replaced(if the pistons are not damaged), and if you have a non interference fit engine, just replace the belt, and you are good to go.

How can I get my 11hp motor to start under load?
I have a home made log splitter that I recently got a new motor for. It is a 11hp chinese motor and I've read nothing but good things about it in reviews. The brand name is greyhound. Any way I connected it to the hydro pump ( a pto driven pump originally ) and cant get it to start under load. When I disconnect it the motor fires right up. I think im going to go with a belt drive with a fly wheel tensioner but was looking for some other suggestions. Anything will help.

How do i fix the bulge in my pants? It's so frustrating?
I'm 18 years old, and i always have a bulge in my pants below the belt. i would wear super skinny jeans under my pants to try and hide it, but it's still there. I bought all kinds of really, really tight boxers, it's still there. My legs looked really stiff wearing all those pants and boxers, so i can't do that anymore. I have a job where i have to tuck my shirt in. I use to just not have it tucked in so the shirt can hide the bulge, but then i got my hours cut for doing that. I feel so self conscious everywhere i go. I hate work because of this stupid problem. All the other boys at work are so flat below the belt, so i wonder if it's common for boys to conceal their package. I even used tape to wrap it around my leg, but then i was too flat, and i was afraid people would think i had a really small dick. the tape was agonizing. I want to fix this stupid problem and get on with my life. What do i do?
Unusual ring found in antique shop...?
I found this bizarre ring in an antique shop the other day and was curious if anyone might know if there is a traceable origin. The ring is sterling silver, with no inscriptions, and on top is a molded scene of a man and woman making love, with the man taking the woman from behind. I purchased the ring but there was another piece that looked as though it may have been made by the same artist. This one was of a naked woman, spread leg and riding the crescent face of the man in the moon. I know this all might sound like a joke, but it's really not. I'm just curious who would make something like this and for what purpose (as in who would really wear it?). Any information would be great.

Well, I own a Ruger Mini-14 with 7 30rd magazines. The reason I have this is not to go on a rampage on Capital Hill, but to make damn sure I outgun the ************ in my house that's trying to kill me and my family. I'd rather me have the Mini-14 with 7 30rd magazines and him have the 5 shot revolver than vice versa. Plus if they knew anything about guns, they'd know there's no such thing as an "assault weapon." You can assault anybody with any kind of weapon.
